From: Katie at DKScully@juno.com Category:MSR Date:Feb.30th 1997 Summary: When Dana goes home after that office scene in Never Again, she contemplates what Mulder could have ment, and realizes just how much she really loves him. Disclaimer: Mulder and Scully do not belong to me, they belong to CC, 1013, and FOX. Author's Note: This is the third story in my Selena series. The first was Dreaming Of You, and the second was I Could Fall In Love. I hope you enjoy my tribute to one of my favorite singers, Selena. Captive Heart She had eased her way out of the office after Mulder had made it clear how he felt for her. She had always known in a sense that he thought her life was his own. It had bothered her a little, especially when he tried to control her like a second banana. She knew that when someone was in love that they gave themself completely to someone else. Had she blindly given herself so completely to him that he thought he owned her? No and yes. She had given herself completely to him, but he didn't think he owned her. She supposed when he gives orders, it's only because he wants her to be safe. Not that she could blame him. After she was taken from him, her mother had told her how he wouldn't believe it. Wouldn't accept it. Now that she was with him again, he was overprotective. Sometimes the most confusing things were the simplest. It was a simple fact that she loved him with all her heart and soul. Yet, it was confusing to her how he felt. She sighed and popped in a CD. She needed to relax and think things through. As the song started to play, she sat on her sofa, closed her eyes and listened. I see him walkin. I sense the danger. I hear his voice and my heart stops. He wears the face of the night. Ooh, the perfect stranger. An I'm fallin-ready or not. Don't think about it. Who knows where the wind blows? No doubt about it, I'll go where he goes. Dana's eyes flew open. This song was her heart sorting out it's feelings. she was amazed, but kept listening. My captive heart- He holds the key to these emotions. My willing soul- Let me drown in this ocean. And I carry the flame and play my part, Like I did from the start. As long as he's callin, callin my captive heart. Fire burns, so I've been told. But I like the way it feels. He has the wild passion, That drives away the cold. And I know his touch is real. No doubt about it, I'll go where he goes. She thought about all they had done, and all the risks they had taken for the truth and each other. His wild passion driving them on. All it took for her to follow was a simple hand on the small of her back, or her shoulder. His touch kept her going. My captive heart- He holds the key to these emotions. My willing soul- Let me drown in this ocean. And I carry the flame and play my part, Like I did from the start. As long as he's callin, callin my captive heart. Don't think about it. Who knows where the wind blows? No doubt about it, I'll go where he goes. As the song faded, she realized, maybe not for the first time, that he held her heart captive, and she knew that she held his. She picked up the phone, and pushed speed dial. He picked up on the first ring. "Mulder, it's me. Can we talk?" The End!
