From:Katie at dkscully@juno.com Part1/1 Rating:PG13 because of bad language<just a bit> Category:msf Summary: Mulder and Scully are trapped in their office when a snow storm hits, and discuss weather or not they've ever thought about being more than partners. Disclaimer:Understand, I'm only writing this disclaimer thingy because I don't want to get sued. Mulder and Scully Don't belong to me, they belong to CC, Fox, and 1013. There, I did it. Grudgingly, but I did it. So even if you do decide to sue me, it will be worthless, cause I'm only 13, and get my money from babysitting, and allowence. Not much if you do the math. Author's Note: Okay, now, for the people who used to watch Silk Stalkings because of the wonderful relationship between Chris and Rita, this one goes to you. I always admired the way Chris and Rita were very best friends, and showed it greatly. I also loved it when they admitted that they sometimes thought of what it would be like if they were more than partners. This is what I'm now doing with Mulder and Scully. If I piss off any one over at Silk Stalkings, tough, cause you gave up your ownership of Chris and Rita when you killed him, and sent her away pregnant and alone. "Have you Ever?" She had been up to the ground level of the building more times than possible in twenty minutes to check if it was still snowing, and if they still couldn't leave the building. She was just about to go check again, when her impatient partner stopped her. "Scully, you know it hasn't changed, why don't you take a rest?" "Because I really want out of here." "Am I that much of a pain in the ass?" "Oh, it's not you, Mulder. It's just that eight hours straight of paper work tends to make me restless. And then to find out we're stuck here till dooms day doesn't help much." "I know what you mean. I'm starting to climb the walls myself. Why don't we give the paper work a rest for now, and just talk." "Sure, what about?" "Well, how about dinner? I do believe we can grab something from that Chinese vending machine they stuck on the fourth floor." "As if we need more grease to clog our arteries after the last case. All we ate was fast food." "True, but I'm starving. One more little greasy meal isn't going to kill us." "You never know, Mulder." "Well, I'm gonna brave it. You coming with me?" She sighed, grudgingly, but followed him out of the office, and onto the elevator. After running down two hallways, they finally found the thing hidden in a dark corner of the building. "Doesn't look like they want anyone to enjoy this thing, if they had to stick it way back here." He smiled once before popping a dollar into the machine, and pushing a button. Scully followed the suit, and moved on to the pop machine. Once they were both satisfied that they'd been taken care of, they headed back down stairs. Half an hour later, there was Chinese wrappers strewn about their desks, and two empty Coke cans. "Ahhh, Mulder," Scully sighed, "if I have a heart attack, do me a favor, and just let me die." "We'll be meetin Saint Peter together, Scully. One more egg roll, and I'll keel over." Both smiled, quite full. "Oh, wait, Scully. We still have two fortune cookies left." "Not for long, we won't, let's pitch them." "But don't you want to know what they say?" "Sure, Why not." Mulder tossed her a cookie, and tore the wrapper off his. Hearing a giggle from across the room, Mulder looked up from trying to break open his cookie. "What?" "My fortune says the man of my dreams is a true believer." "So the rootbeer wasn't fate after all." He smiled. She shrugged. "What does yours say?" "It says..." his eyes widened as he read it mentally. "What?" "It says love is right under my nose." "No it doesn't." "Come look for yourself, Scully." She approached him carefully, trying to decide if he was joking. As she looked down to read the message, her eyes widened. "Told you so." She smiled, and returned to her desk. "Remind me not to eat fortune cookies with you again." "Awww, c'mon, Scully. Don't tell me you've never thought about..." Being careful to not meet his gaze, she replied, "No, Mulder, I've never thought about that once." That didn't work for long, though, because when she did look up at him, his skeptical glance sent every barrier crashing down. "Okay, Okay, I have. Haven't you?" "Of course I have, Scully. Though, in my fantasies, I call you Dana. " She blushed. "Would you like it to be more?" "I don't know. I mean, I like what we have, it's great. Best friends and good partners are hard to come by. I think you're the best friend a guy could ever have. I don't think that would be a good thing right now, because the bureau frowns on partner relationships, but in the future, who knows? Maybe we were just destined for each other. What about you? Do you want more?" "I agree, I think you're the best partner and friend anyone could ask for, and maybe sometime later, what we have could develope. I'm happy right now, are you?" "Yeah, I am, partner, Yeah I am." He smiled. She walked over to sit on the edge of his desk. "The fortune cookie was weird, though, huh?" "Yeah. I still can't figure it out. It said love was right under my nose. How the hell did it know you were shorter than me?" He dodged a blow to the head with a laugh. He stood up, and embraced her before she could attempt hitting him again, and she sighed into his arms. "You're impossible sometimes, Mulder." "But you love me anyway." He quirked. She nodded gently into his chest. The End So, how was that? Yes, I *did* take the fortune cookie thing from Silk Stalkings, but I won't tell if you don't :*) Write me with comments at dkscully@juno.com
