Disclaimer:Sheesh, this is gettin old, huh? well, by now I'm 100% sure you know I don't own Mulder and Scully, I'm only borrowing them, and if anyone sues me, I just might not give them back:*) Just kidden, CC, 1013, and Fox, the real owners of Mulder and Scully. I've said this before, but it's not like I'm making any money off this<dout I could> and I don't think I ever will. Being poor isn't so bad as long as you get feedback, really! Author's Note:I got the idea to write this from a fellow friend writer, Janine. I really liked her story called, "Questionable Logic", and decided to do a mind play of my own. The idea of Mulder and Scully talking to a voices in their heads, sounded like fun. Just a sugestion, but if you've ever heard of Sam Kinison, his voice sounds really funny as Mulder's sub-concious. He's a dead comic, but when he was alive, he was pretty funny stuff. Whatever you want Mulder's head to sound like is up to you, though. I use my own voice as Scully's head, cause it lets you be a part of the story, but again, whatever you want. Whenever their mind is speaking, it's in little captions like this < >. When ever they are talking, it's just normal. You'll know the difference. Have fun! Penny for Your Thoughts <Well, old boy, you've done it again. This has got to be the hundredth time we've been in the hospital *this month!* The nurses even reserve a room for you! Better hope Scully's not here yet. You still have to think of a good excuse.> What do you mean? Scully will understand. <Oh, you think so? You better be glad you're in a hospital where they can sew back anything she rips off!> Come on, you're overreacting. <Yeah, sure. Just keep tellin youreslf that.> Mulder opened his eyes to find a sleeping Scully before him. <Lucky dog.> He smiled to himself. <So, Mulder. What are you going to tell her? This has got to be the millionth time you've run off without her, and got yourself hurt. What are you gonna say?> How about the truth? That's what we're always trying to find, isn't it? <Yeah right, Mulder. How can you admit the truth to her, if you won't even admit it to yourself?> What are you talking about? I know why I go off without her. <Oh do you? Mind telling me then?> It's because I...I... <You what, Mulder? You go off because of stupidity? Yeah, that might be part of it, but she won't be getting the whole thing.> Well, if *you* know so much, why do *you* think I go off without her? <Oh please. It's so obvious, Mulder. You do the things you do because you're afraid if she comes along that she'll get hurt. That you'll lose her again. Let me remind you, my friend. If she hadn't been as strong as she is, your ass might be dead right now. She's not a porceline doll, you know. She's a tough cookie, Mulder.> Yeah, I know. <So, *if* you know, then why leave her behind? > Mulder couldn't find an answer for his impatient concious. <For once in your life, listen to me, Mulder. I'm telling you, you got to fess up. You know there are things you want to tell her. Let her know how you feel about her. How much she means to you. Say it from the heart.> How? <Well, now, let's think. Gee, I know. There's this thing in your throat that makes noise at will called your voice box!> Okay, okay. Point taken. <So you'll listen to me?> Yeah, sure, fine. <Great! I think we might actually be getting somewhere, Mulder.> He smiled to himself. <Well, girl, he's done it again.> Yeah, I know. <So how long are we going to let him think you're sleeping?> Oh, a couple more minutes. <Okay, works for me. So what are we going to tell him? I just love giving those speeches that make him squirm.> Hey, that's mean. <Maybe so, but don't you think he deserves it?> His life is his own damn business. If he wants to get himself killed, that's fine with me. <Oh, come on. You know it's not like that. You care more about this guy than you do about yourself.> That's not true! <Oh no? How about the time you went to jail so he wouldn't be in trouble? Or the time you drove him out of this *country* just so he'd be safe?> Hey, that's not fair! I was sure they were going to kill him, and couldn't rest easy knowing that I could have prevented my partner's death. <Hey, you're getting good at that.> Good at what? <Lying to yourself. You almost sound convincing. Except I know you too well, and nothing gets by me. You, maybe, but not me.> A little cocky, aren't we? How could you possibly know things I don't? <I know you love the person you only call your *partner*. You don't seem to know that, now do you?> No, I don't know that, because I don't love him! <Oh, come on, Dana. You're not going to win this one.> You always tell me that. <And I'm always right, aren't I?> She snickered, grudgingly agreeing. <So listen to me now, when it's most important. You love him. I know it, He knows it, and way deep down, under layers of resolve, I think you know it too.> So what if I do? There's nothing I can do about it. It would ruin our partnership. <Says who?> Says the government. <Why do you do this?!> Do what? <You tell yourself something that's completely untrue, and try to force yourself to believe it. Don't you know by now that that doesn't work with me?> So what do you suggest I do? <I suggest you simply tell him how you feel.> But it's not that easy. <Yes it is! Just trust me. Why do you have to be so stubborn?> She sighed. Alrght, alright. I'll try. <I knew you had it in you all along!> Let's hope so. The End So, what did you think? Yes they both ended up tellng each other how they feel, and had a big mushy scene that I choosed not to write, because once you get me started on mushy stuff, I just won't stop, and that would ruin the story altogether. Tell me what you think, I'd really really *really* appreciate it! The addy again is, dkscully@juno.co
